A Decade, From Today

Well to be truly honest with myself, I truly picture myself living on the beach in ten years time. My career would be in fashion or the fashion industry. I know I stated in class that my major is Pre-vet and it is but the thing is I'm a senior this year and I have finally realize where my heart and true passions lie. I hopefully will be working in fashion design. Most likely in ten years time I will be working with a design firm coming up with sketches which my boss will edit and probably use as his or her own. I see that in ten years I will finally have accumlated enough designs of my own to hopefully enter the show on project runway and be either the youngest, at the age of 31, or oldest contestant for that season. Most likely I will be so focused on accomplishing a steady salary at the design firm that I won't be in a steady relationship. I also believe I will leave a humble one bedroom apt somewhere near a coastline probably in New York considering how that city in particular has some major fashion firms. Alongside working at the firm, I will have a side job owning a boutique which will hopefully carry a few articles of clothings in my own design. I want to be able to create a new line of jeans where any women, of any race, of any size or shape can where and be happy with themselves. All of that seems a lot but this is what I hope to one day be doing in ten years time.

Web 2.0

I think the title describes how the internet or the "web" has advanced since it has first started meaning that in the beginning all you could do on the web was basically chat and I believe send short email messages but now you can do so much more like send pictures, songs, videos, and you can chat with anyone around the world. With the web now being web 2.0 I believe that it could negatively and postively affect people in the workforce. The negative aspect would be, that your employer will have a chance to access anything you may post online such as blogs and if they were to find anything that they would not approve of it might lead to you never getting hired or getting fired. The positive would be that it could help you with job application as well as doing research for the company the person may be thinking about applying to. I think what they mean by you would have to rethink everything is that even though the internet has become a valuble asset to society it seems that we have to be careful with how we handle it and that some rules or regulation may need to be applied in the protection of your own privacy.
